How Rankings, Corrections and Evidence Updates Are Handled

The ranking is calculated

Public positions are generated from the stored category scores and weighting model. Editors do not type a rank into a page. Score ties use the published tie rule, and unscored records cannot enter the Top 10.

Provisional is not verified

A requested provisional position is stored as an editorial state outside category scoring and is labelled in full. It is not included in ranking schema, award copy or Top 10 conclusions until evidence and scores independently support it.

Corrections need an audit trail

Factual corrections record the source, affected text, decision and date. A supplier may submit evidence or a right of reply, but commercial value does not determine whether a change is accepted.

Material updates trigger recalculation

New testing records, policy changes, lost verification routes or changed fulfilment details can affect a category. Editors update the evidence first, revise the rationale, rerun the score and publish what changed.
